Superhero Movie Fatigue “Absolutely Exists,” Says The Marvels Director

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has dominated the box office for the past decade. But this year has seen films like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania disappoint with ticket sales. And that’s not even mentioning total bombs like DC’s The Flash. It’s just more evidence that superhero fatigue could be setting in, something that The Marvels director Nia DaCosta believes is happening for moviegoers.

Speaking with Total Film (via GamesRadar ), DaCosta said she thinks “superhero fatigue absolutely exists.” So how will she fight back against that lethargy? By making her MCU sequel feel unique, she argues.
