Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 Is Here, And The Patch Notes Are Bigger Than Adam Smasher
1 min readWith Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion launching soon on September 25, developer CD Projekt Red is preparing Night City for the spy-thriller with a substantial overhaul. Virtually every part of Cyberpunk 2077 has been tweaked, modified, and enhanced in Update 2.0, which improves the base game and is free to all players even if they’re not planning to play Phantom Liberty.
CDPR has published the “notable” patch notes for Update 2.0, a mammoth list of over 2,200 words describing the biggest changes in Cyberpunk 2077. That’s a hefty list below, but if you’re looking for the broad strokes, expect a vastly different game when you launch it. Revamped perks, skill trees, and cyberware are just some of the highlights here, and if you get up to too much mischief, expect Night City’s finest to respond in lethal force depending on the severity of your crimes. Car combat, combat AI enhancements, vehicle handling fine-tuning, a revamped health item inventory, and much more are all present in the update.
“What if you took the best parts of Cyberpunk 2077 and condensed them into a tight, cohesive package for a heart-wrenching political action thriller? That’s what Phantom Liberty does in an expansion that seamlessly fits into the original game,” Michael Higham wrote in GameSpot’s Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty review.
